Paul Ratcliffe, CEO of Groundhog UK Ltd, is pleased to announce an exciting milestone for the company. Groundhog UK Ltd has acquired Genquip Ltd with the official acquisition date as the 1st November 2024.
Groundhog and Genquip have worked in partnership for well over 30 years; Groundhog specialising in manufacture and Genquip specialising in sales and customer service. The late Dennis Hughes founded Genquip back in 1993, in order to assist Paul’s flourishing business and to leverage the UK hire market.
Together, Paul & Dennis’ strong partnership led to growth for both businesses, in turn leading to a huge rise in the supply of the welfare units. ‘Groundhog-Genquip’ quickly became synonymous with welfare.
Today’s announcement means that Groundhog can improve its service to customers and manage the business more efficiently. Groundhog will continue to offer its customers a high-quality product with sustainable innovation.
All operations including customer service, manufacturing, spare parts, sales and training will be carried out by a team of dedicated and experienced staff. This team will be headed by Paul’s son Ryan Ratcliffe and will operate from the brand new Groundhog HQ in Aberdulais, South Wales.
Peter Beach will continue to lead the Sales and Marketing division as Director.
I would like to personally thank, William Bartletta, Director of Morgan La Roche, solicitors Swansea, Katherine Broadhurst, Corporate Finance Partner of Azets Accountants Swansea for all their help and support during this purchase.
Also Josh Llewellyn and the late Dennis Hughes, both former directors of Genquip for all their hard work over the years. Groundhog will continue to ensure that it remains at the forefront of the UK welfare industry.
