"Had an incredible weekend performing alongside Coldplay on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury! The song we performed on, ‘Humankind’, is all about inclusivity. The performance included musicians from different backgrounds all across the world, including Michael J Fox on guitar! I was proud to be one of the 8 players selected to perform representing the Grimethorpe Colliery Band.
The weekend was truly magical. The atmosphere at Glastonbury is unlike anything else - the energy, the crowd, the music, it all comes together to create something really special. Standing on that stage, playing music that celebrates inclusivity and unity, was a humbling and inspiring experience. Playing alongside legends like Coldplay and having Michael J Fox join us was surreal. The song ‘Humankind’ has such a powerful message, and being part of that moment was something I’ll never forget.
As part of the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, which has such a rich history and tradition, it was an honor to represent them on such a grand stage. It was an unforgettable experience to share the stage with fellow musicians from all over the world, each bringing their own unique sound and background to the performance. It was a true celebration of what music can do - bring people together.
But now, it’s back to reality! After such an exhilarating weekend, I’m back at Genquip Ltd, ready to dive back into my role and continue spreading the word of the Hog. There’s a lot to be excited about here too, and I’m eager to bring the same energy and passion I felt at Glastonbury to my work. Whether it's working with clients or sharing our innovative solutions, I’m more motivated than ever to make a difference."
